The primary focus of the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is to provide basic and limited advanced knowledge in emergency medical care and transportation for the critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. The successful student will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation at the AEMT level. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians will be trained on performing interventions with the basic and advanced equipment found on an ambulance.
Community Ambulance Health Science Center courses are approved by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and the Southern Nevada Health District.
